Raw Material
Through consolidated purchasing, raw material purchases are standardised where possible to achieve cost reduction. The LME is tracked and strategic trades are made. Buffer stocks are carried as a hedge against fluctuations in the markets.
Warehousing & Distribution
The utilisation of high density storage and advanced stock control software, improves efficiency and reduces inventory. We are also able to use customer vehicles for back haul, again cutting the costs of distribution and reducing our carbon footprint.
Advanced Manufacturing
Products and tooling is designed in order to enable the implementation of advanced manufacturing techniques. These include the quick changeover of tools and just in time production scheduling. The incorporation of EDI (electronic data interchange) further improves factory response to changes in demand.
Environment
We continually look to implement technology which reduces our carbon footprint. Heating and lighting is highly efficient. Plant and equipment incorporates technology which regenerates electricity for the grid reducing the power required per unit of production. All packaging where used is recycled for the secondary market.
